Promotion and Relegation rules back in effect!

Big news this Saturday as the BNXT League announced that there will again be a system of promotions and relegations, making things extra interesting for TDM1 teams on the Belgian side and the Promotiedivisie teams on the Dutch side.

The last team of the BNXT season will relegate back to the second division of his country, while the winner of the second divisions from both countries get the opportunity to move up to the BNXT League if they are willing and able to meet the licence requirements (available finances and available infrastructure).

If one or both of the second division winners from both countries are unable or unwilling to move up to the BNXT League then the team that finished last in the BNXT League will get the opportunity to keep his place in the BNXT League.

In short I think we can expect the following: for the 2026-’27 season we will probably still have the same BNXT League teams and no promoting teams, but from the 2027-’28 on we might start seeing some new blood in the league with perhaps CB Liège who has already expressed their ambitions to do just that.
