NCAA: Toumani Camara shines as Georgia beats North Georgia and Darnell Snyers yesterday (62-84). It was the first time since 2009 that Georgia faced North Georgia and only the 2nd time in the history.
With the loss of Anthony Edwards, the number 1 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, Georgia will have to find solution in offense this season. One of the solution could very well be Toumani Camara. Last season, the Belgian started the last 23 games of the season for Georgia. He averaged 6.6 rebounds, 4.3 rebounds, 0.7 assist, 0.6 steal and 0.6 block in 24 minutes.
Yesterday, Georgia defeated North Georgia 62-84. Camara led all scorers with 19 points, his career best for Georgia. He also grabbed 7 rebounds. ” We have so many talents in the team, one day it might be my day. Of course I had to work on myself being more agressive, but i’ts the same for everybody. ” , said Camara during the post-game interview. “I also put some weight on and worked on my skills, with my freshman experience i knew exactly what I had to work on.”, said the former Woluwe player about his off-season work.
For North Georgia, Darnell Snyers ( in the starting 5), played 27 minutes. The former U20 international, recorded 9 points and 4 rebounds for the Saints.
