Chris Jones, former Mons-Hainaut player, reportedly signs with Maccabi Tel Aviv
According to Ismael Senol from BeInsport Turkey, Chris Jones will leave Bursaspor to sign with Euroleague team Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Jones signed a 1 year deal with Mons for the 2017-2018 season. He came from Switzerland, where coach Daniel Goethals detected him. In the 2017-2018 regular season he averaged 13.6 points, 4 assists and 3.6 rebounds. In the playoffs he averaged 17 points 4 assists and 4 rebounds but Mons was eliminated by Aalst.
He signed another 1 year deal for the 2018-2019 season with Mons. He averaged 14.7 points, 4.2 assists and 3.7 rebounds this year.
For the 2019-2020, he signed a lucrative contract in Turkey with Bursaspor. In one of the best championships in Europe, he averaged 15.3 points, 6.8 assists and 3.2 rebounds.
He signed an extension with Bursaspor for the 2020-2021 season, but Maccabi Tel Aviv will pay a buy-out to terminate Jones’s contract and sign him to their roster for the upcoming season. With Maccabi he will discover the highest level of basketball in Europe, the Euroleague.
