Top Division Men 1 (2023-’24): Power Ranking (November 2023)

  1. Matts De Keuster – BBC Lommel:
    • Rating: 51.4
    • Stats: 9 Games, 18.4 ppg, 63.4% 2Pts, 20.0% 3Pts, 87.5% FTs, 9.4 rpg, 1.2 apg, 2.0 spg, 0.1 bpg, 28.9 mpg
    • In his 14th season with the club and his 6th season in TDM1 Matts De Keuster continues to be a force to be reckoned with. De Keuster is currently 4th in the league in scoring, 3rd in the league in rebounding and 8th in the league in interceptions so it’s no wonder that he finds himself at the top of our first TDM1 Power Ranking of the season. He scored a season-high 26 points on 2 occasions so far, including a 26 pts & 12 rebs performance in a win against Neufchâteau. He has already recorded 4 Double-Doubles so far this season, ranking him second in the league behind his teammate Wesenbeek.
  2. Toon Wesenbeek – BBC Lommel:
    • Rating: 47.7
    • Stats: 9 Games, 16.8 ppg, 49.4% 2Pts, 34.8% 3Pts, 80.4% FTs, 9.8 rpg, 3.1 apg, 1.9 spg, 0.3 bpg, 31.1 mpg
    • Toon Wesenbeek is another long-time member from Lommel as he’s currently in his 12th season with the club, his 6th in TDM1. Along with De Keuster, Wesenbeek controls the paint for Lommel, having a significant impact on their 7-2 record. He leads the league with his 5 Double-Doubles and is currently the league’s top rebounder with 9.8 rpg. He scored a season-high 28 points in the win against Guco Lier in which he also grabbed 11 rebounds.
  3. Mathis Bizimana – Neufchâteau:
    • Rating: 45.9
    • Stats: 9 Games, 18.4 ppg, 60.9% 2Pts, 0% 3Pts, 70.1 FTs, 8.2 rpg, 1.0 apg, 1.1 spg, 0.3 bpg, 23.2 mpg
    • Despite usually coming off the bench for Neufchâteau Mathis Bizimana has been one of the biggest surprises of the early season as he’s 5th in the league in scoring and 9th in the league in rebounding, having recorded 2 Double-Doubles. He had his highest scoring game so far in the win against Kontich when he dropped 27 points on 11/15 FG shooting.
  4. Clément Matisse – Mailleux Comblain:
    • Rating: 40.7
    • Stats: 9 Games, 15.0 ppg, 56.3% 2Pts, 29.4% 3Pts, 69.8% FTs, 9.4 rpg, 2.6 apg, 2.3 spg, 0.4 bpg, 27.4 mpg
    • One of the reasons for Comblain’s strong start of the season and their 7-2 record is Clément Matisse who’s 2nd on the team in scoring, 1st in rebounding and 3rd in passing. He has also recorded 3 Double-Doubles so far this season. He had his best scoring output in the win against Kontich when he finished with 24 points on 9/11 FG shooting.
  5. Seppe Willems – Antwerp Giants B:
    • Rating: 39.4
    • Stats: 7 Games, 20.7 ppg, 60.2% 2Pts, 43.8% 3Pts, 57.1% FTs, 8.3 rpg, 0.6 apg, 0.9 spg, 1.0 bpg, 31.0 mpg
    • In his 9th season with the club big man Seppe Willems is clearly the leader for the young Antwerp Giants B squad who’s struggling a bit in the early season with their 2-7 record. At 24 years old Willems is actually the oldest player on the squad and is leading them in scoring (1st in the league), rebounding and shot blocking. He has recorded 2 Double-Doubles as well and scored a season-high 29 points in a loss against LDP Donza. He also regularly gets a call-up to the A-team and has competed in 6 games in the BNXT League so far.
  6. Sam Lambrecht – SKT Ieper:
    • Rating: 39.2
    • Stats: 9 Games, 16.1 ppg, 66.7% 2Pts, 33.3% 3Pts, 90% FTs, 7.8 rpg, 1.6 apg, 1.4 spg, 0.4 bpg, 32.6 mpg
    • After 2 seasons in TDM2 with Oostkamp Sam Lambrecht has returned to TDM1 as he signed with SKT Ieper. Suffice to say that the forward certainly has his place in Belgium’s second highest league as he leads SKT Ieper in scoring, rebounding and shot blocking. He has also recorded 3 Double-Doubles so far this season, including a monster game at Charleroi when he scored a league-leading 36 points and added 11 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.
  7. Senne Geukens – LDP Donza:
    • Rating: 37.1
    • Stats: 9 Games, 13.2 ppg, 58.5% 2Pts, 46.7% 3Pts, 100% FTs, 5.1 rpg, 3.6 apg, 0.8 spg, 0.1 bpg, 27.8 mpg
    • In his 2nd season with LDP Donza 40 year old Senne Geukens remains amongst the best players in the league. He leads his team in passing and is second in rebounding and scoring, while shooting a very impressive 46.7% from behind the arc. He had his best scoring output in a loss at Falco Gent when he finished with 21 points along with 5 assists.
  8. Maxime Verspeeten – Falco Gent:
    • Rating: 34.9
    • Stats: 9 Games, 13.7 ppg, 57.4% 2Pts, 44.4% 3Pts, 80.6% FTs, 5.3 rpg, 2.9 apg, 2.8 spg, 0.1 bpg, 27.3 mpg
    • Maxime Verspeeten left Waregem last season to join newcomer in the league Falco Gent and has profiled himself as one of the main players, helping the squad to a league-leading 8-1 record. At Falco he’s 2nd in scoring, 3rd in rebounding, 2nd in passing and 1st in steals. He has also recorded 2 Double-Doubles so far this season, including a 17 points & 10 rebounds performance in the win against Ieper. He had his best scoring game so far in the derby against LDP Donza when he finished with 21 points.
  9. Stig Rongé – Gembo Borgerhout:
    • Rating: 32.6
    • Stats: 9 Games, 15.6 ppg, 57.1% 2Pts, 36.5% 3Pts, 64.7% FTs, 5.3 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.4 spg, 0.1 bpg, 31.4 mpg
    • In his 6th season at Gembo Stig Rongé remains their main guy on the floor, leading the team in scoring, 4th in rebounding, 3rd in passing and 1st in steals. He scored a season-high 22 points in the win against Kontich when he drained 22 points, shooting 5/9 from behind-the-arc.
  10. François Lhoest – Mailleux Comblain:
    • Rating: 32.1
    • Stats: 8 Games, 9.1 ppg, 56.3% 2Pts, 29.0% 3Pts, 76.9% FTs, 8.9 rpg, 3.1 apg, 0.9 spg, 0.1 bpg, 32.0 mpg
    • In his second season at Comblain 38 year old veteran François Lhoest continues to bring tremendous energy as he comes off the bench. Despite coming off the bench he still receives the most playing time with 32.0 mpg. He’s also second on the team in rebounding, 1st in passing and 4th in scoring. He had his best game so far this season in a win against Neufchâteau when he recorded the 17 points & 14 rebounds Double-Double.
