Euromillions Basketball League: With only 4 pro players, Oostende defeated Kangoeroes

With only 4 pro players, Oostende defeated Kangoeroes this Sunday (74-77).

Oostende is hardly hit by Covid-19, and only 4 pro players (Gillet, Schwartz, Sylla and Buysschaert) were available this afternoon to face Kangoeroes Mechelen. 4 players from the BCO academy, were added to Dario Gjergja’s team (Pintelon, Kediambiko, Smout and Waleson). And despite the absences, Oostende defeated Kangoeroes in Euromillions Basketball Leaguethanks to Loic Schwartz (20 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists) – Pierre-Antoine Gillet (18 points, 11 rebounds).

Antwerp defeated Charleroi (78-83) thanks to Sterling Gibbs (19 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists) and Vrenz Bleijenbergh (21 points, career high, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 1 block). Bleijenbergh scored 16 points in the first quarter, more than all the Spirou team (14). For Charleroi, Yoeri Schepen scored 15 points with 5 3 pointers.

Leuven defeated Limburg thanks to another big performance form Ryan Kriener (20 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists), definitely the best center in Euromillions Basketball League (72-78). It will be very hard for Leuven to retain him next season.

Liège fought hard but was beaten by Mons (68-70). Youngster James Potier scored 23 points for Liège but Mons rely on his depth (7 players with 8 points or more) to overcome Lionel Bosco’s team.
